If you've not come across our Team Blends you're in for a treat; this range changes annually, and there is always something different. Let's explain it...
Every year the WoW Team members design their own blends and you - our lovely customers - get to vote for your 10 favourites. These then become the WoW Team Blends for the next 12 months, and what's even better is that the creators of the winning blends get £1 for every kilogram of their blend sold. When it is time to make new blends, the 3 best sellers move into our Trend Blends, so you can carry on getting a fix of your favourite fibres.
This year we saw some hot competition to reach the top ten, so we thought we'd introduce you to the people behind the blends and hear what inspired them.

"Our Northern Lights blends inspired me to create Aurora Borealis, I wanted to make this stand out and took my time to perfect the layers."
*
If you've ordered from us you may have seen Sarahjane's name on your packing cards. She's one of our powerhouse-packers who is responsible getting your orders ready for you. We're pretty sure she also holds the WoW record for most orders packed in one day!

"As a Cornish lass I had to go for the Cornish cat (Cornish Rex) as inspiration! The colours are of my favourite calicos; Jinxy and Binky."
*
You can find Robyn on the finishing floor of our mill. Here, (watched by Pearl the pigeon who lives on the window ledge) she takes yarn spun on the floor below and puts it into hanks and balls ready to come to the packing warehouse.

"Inspired by bright, neon lights. I wanted the blend to be vibrant and slightly shiny which is why I added Mulberry Silk to lift it. Merino and silk are also some of my favourite fibres to work with when I'm blending!"
*
Shabaz can be found on the ground floor of our mill, surrounded by our blending machines and piles of fibre. When you place an order for a blend he's the one who makes it for you! Recently, he's been busy with out advent blends - and our staff range!

"Sunsets aren't just one colour and I wanted to create a blend that mimicked the way the colours streak across the sky just as the sun is setting."
*
Our kits and mixed bags don't pick and pack themselves, Sara is the one who gathers, checks and packs all of them! She's got her own room at WoW HQ which is lined with instructions, labels and, of course, wool. It's the perfect craft bolt-hole!

"I was inspired by making daisy chains as a young child on my front lawn."
*
Jane's work is never done as she works in our packing warehouse and our mill. For part of the week she joins our packing team to help get your orders picked and dispatched. For the remainder of the week she helps the finishing team in our mill, making sure all the balls of yarn we have are in tip-top condition.

"Inspired by the Natural World..."
*
Motty is our floor manager at our packing warehouse. His jobs include order checking, packing for shipping and trying to keep some sort of order while our packing teams are zooming around!

"I wanted to be a little different as our staff blends always tend to be really colourful. I’ve noticed Polwarth being a really popular fibre due to being one of the more white natural fibres we stock, so combining this with small pops of colour and texture really appealed to me, and could envisage this spinning up into a really exciting yarn! I can’t wait to see what everyone manages to come up with using my blend this year!"
*
If you've ever called us its likely you've spoken to Ross. He does our customer services and is also our shipping guru - if you've placed and order with us, he's shipped it!
*
*
*
"I wanted to bring an element of the sea to the blends this year. The dark colours help to represent the depths while the lighter colours are like the waves when the wind catches them."
*
You can find Phil on the finishing floor of our mill; he runs our balling machines which put our spun yarn into handy little balls that you can knit with. This means that when you buy a ball of yarn from us it will have gone through his strict quality control first!

'I've always loved showing customers the difference in feel, texture and softness of different fibres, this blend was designed to give spinners and felters the WoW factor when crafting!'
*
Andy is our Head of Operations; he has a hand in everything from the website, to packaging, product design and even packing when things get busy. He's also responsible for all of our photography and videography.

Merino & Bamboo
*
"I wanted to create something bold with striking colours that draws the eye. Merino is great for this, but the bamboo is what gives it that extra bit of pizzazz."
*
You'll often find Matt in our WoW van or on one of our forklifts. He is responsible for moving our stock between the mill and the packing warehouse, as well as managing our huge stores of wool!
